The Amrap Team
Chris Johnson - Manager
Chris has worked in the music and radio sectors as a sound engineer, radio station manager and new-media consultant. At just 22 years of age Chris was appointed station manager of Edge Radio in Tasmania, which he managed over its first five years. He successfully led the station toward a swag of accolades including the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia’s ‘Community Radio Station of the Year’ award (2003). Chris also won the 'Career Achievement' category at the 2006 Tasmanian Young Achiever awards. He sat on Arts Tasmania’s grants advisory panel to allocate funds to artists, community radio’s national Digital Radio Standing Committee, and more recently on the Music Council of Australia.
Chris was appointed to manage Amrap in October 2008 when the project was revitalised with commonwealth government funding. He places a high priority on creating unique cross platform services (like AirIt and Amrap Pages) to meet the changing needs of the community radio and Australian music sectors.
